Who we are

The M4PM project is set up by Blue Horizon and Space Applications Services and

co-financed by the European Space Agency.

Blue Horizon Sarl is a Luxembourg based enterprise, created in 2017 and fully owned by OHB SE.

The company strives to create the necessary technologies and processes for sustainable life on Earth and in Space. Our vision is to become a global leader in bio-engineering for developing and utilizing both Earth and Space technologies for the benefit of humankind.

Activities are currently centered around the GREEN EARTH program, aiming at the greening of the desert using micro algae and bacteria, the utilization of algae and bacteria in space for life support systems in relation to MELISSA, as well as the development of personalized medicine under microgravity conditions.

Space Applications Services is an independent Belgian company founded in 1987, with a subsidiary in Houston USA, Aerospace Applications North America (AANA).

SpaceApps’ activities cover manned and unmanned spacecraft, launch/re-entry vehicles, control centres, robotics and a wide range of information systems. The company takes responsibility for the complete project life-cycle, from establishing customer needs, designing and selecting the most appropriate technology, assembling the best team to implement the project solution and, in some cases, operating the system for the customer.

The company has a strong focus on Research and Development with partners across Europe and a growing network across the other continents. We welcome opportunities for national and international research collaboration.
